Submarine
I’ve been watching the world through a periscope this whole time
Trying to stay cool and calm above the surface,
Bearing witness to the outside world,
As boats and clouds and worries float by.
While I remain compressed
Under immense pressure
Deep in the depths of my core.
And I fear that even the smallest crack
Would be enough to make me drown.
Now I can’t remember if I’m submerged by choice
Or simply sinking
