Acorn

I am small

And in the grand scheme of a universal scale,
I am insignificant

But I have to believe

That my impact
Does not come
From the weight of my burdens

For I may be small,
But my life
Cannot be

I hope I can stand tall
And inspire

I hope I can remain striking
And strong

I hope I can love
And be loved

For the heights I need to reach
Cannot be limited
To the length of my arms

I am small

But it’s important that I remember
On the days I feel smallest

Just how big of a role I can play
In the life of someone
Willing to watch me grow
