Arachnophobia

They say spiders are more afraid of us than we are of them.

And yet there are parts of me that envy their boldness.

Walking a thin line every day without fear of falling.

Some of them choosing the domain of those they fear to make their home.

Even the most itsy bitsy of them challenge the elements again and again.

And when their homes are destroyed, when the lives they’ve created vanish in an instant,

They never sulk. They never give up.

Rather, they act.

They begin spinning new webs.

They begin making new connections.

They begin living again.
