Campfire Ghost Stories
You fed my heart more kindling words
Fueling the flames with embraces
Blowing the gas from your pursed lips
Igniting into inferno
But the blaze is often wild
Unpredictable. Unruly.
Unbearable.
Once the heat grew too much,
And the sizzling of skin slid into scorn
You abandon the pyre, fighting fire with fire
Expecting your departure to burn.
Instead, what you left
Was a untamed wildfire
Burning everything around me to ash
Simply because you couldn’t extinguish me properly
