Wanderful
Consider for a moment
That you are not old.
You age, yes
You mature, yes
But old holds the implication of decrepit and debilitated
Doddering on day to day until deceased.
But as long as you maintain a reason to smile,
Finding meaning in anything that brings you joy,
And keeping a sense of silliness in your soul
You will be young.
You are weathered and you are tired,
You’re body may not match what your youthful soul wants,
You’ve been hiking this trail for a long time
But as long as you still enjoy the view,
And appreciate the wood surrounding you
Then we will all have the luxury of living full lives
And can smile at the peak knowing we stayed true the whole way
