Every so often I feel myself stretched out

Like a rubber band

Straining to keep everything from falling apart.

This unbridled tension and tightness

Needing force to pull me further and further

To stretch my goals farther and farther

To be able to hold it all together

While the pressure of my burdens frays me at the edges

Until I feel myself buckling and ripping

But still clinging on

Before we least expect it

The inevitable

Snap

and fall
