Fun Time Sports
There is an element of unnatural nostalgia
That befalls a tired tranquil town this time of year
Brothers and Sisters, Sons and Daughters
Long lost friends and our favorite acquaintances
An annual arrangement of rapid reminiscence
Cementing the idea that this place is no longer home.
This is a limbo of lethargy
Where 51 weeks of the year
We drift through storefronts and restaurants
Up back roads and shortcuts
That use to mean something
But now are just a reminder of what was and what we had.
Home is the time, and our time has long since passed
I’ve just been hitting snooze on the alarm
