Igjarjuk

We breathe in the cold just like dragons

And we cough as we hold in our laughs

Forgetting again that we’re freezing

“I think it’s time we go inside perhaps”

“It’s warmer in your arms than your house

So let’s stay out and explore some more!”

She spun in the snow and she refused to go

Leaving me feeling slightly forlorn.

Twas the thrill of adventure she wanted

And I was just along for the ride.

Not a map or a destination,

Just a carry on bag at her side.

And so I could not stay beside her

And I watched as she danced out of sight

Free to go wherever she wanted

Across the frozen ocean of white.

So alone, like a dragon, I sigh

And I cough as I glimpse what I breathe.

On a pile of snow that I hoarded,

In a tundra with no Love enwreathed
