Liberty Science Center

Growing up, there was this science museum that use to have what was called the “Touch Tunnel”

Essentially, it was a pitch black tunnel you would have to crawl through

And they would advise you to keep your left hand along the wall the entire time.

That’s how you kept track of where you were going.

So there I was,

Blinded. Crawling through a tight space. With only my hand guiding me

Continuously reminding me that I was still in the hole, but an exit was for sure coming up.

I’m not entirely sure what the scientific lesson there was, but this was my takeaway.

You may not always know where you’re going,

Sometimes you can’t even fathom what’s next.

But if you just keep your left hand on that wall

Taking it one step at a time,

And feel it out,

You can remind yourself that the end of that darkness is coming up
