Longevity

She was an icicle

Sharp with wit

Translucent, wearing her heart on her sleeve

Piercing eyes

And cool to the touch.

I admired her growth

And over time, she became part of my home.

Until I finally held her in my hand

And she melted away

Leaving me cold and numb

And alone once more
