My two best friends had a baby, and over the last few months I've seen that child grow.
From a tiny creature, almost larva like, into a baby girl full of quirks and curiosities. She loves to look at lights, and she hates being held with her back to a crowd
She's teething. She's crawling. She's growing.. Before their very eyes
But I've also seen my friends grow. I've seen them become a tighter team. A unit. I've seen them discover new ways to communicate, to back each other up. I’ve seen their love for one another grow stronger, which I didn’t think they could possibly love each other more.
I've seen them discover that 3 AM exists. And that diapers can't always catch everything they're meant to.
But most importantly, I've seen them become parents. I’ve seen them grow into these roles fluently.
And it got me thinking....
People can grow so much in such a short amount of time… I wonder how much I have grown…
I know I’ve come a long way from where I was, almost larva like
Crawling through the dirt of muddied thoughts.
It's important to remember that we, as people, are always growing
Because our lives are always changing.
Whether it’s discovering your first word, or finding something new to love in someone you deem perfect already,
Or accepting your faults and acknowledging you are a work in progress, no where near complete, with a lot more ground to cover
We grow.
Remember, you’ve come a long way from crawling.
But you aren’t done moving.
