I was warned not to look upon your face, for it would surely leave me blind

I was warned, but it didn’t matter, to see your smile I wouldn’t mind.

I’d trade every sunset, every rainbow, every work of art

For one last look upon your face; have it engraved within my heart.

Years down the road, when I forget that of colors and of light

I’ll see a vision of your eyes, and know why I gave up sight.

You see, some wake up every day and will always look for more

While I know, deep within my heart, that I found what’s worth searching for.
