Tabula Rasa

I tried my best to clean the slate.

To erase all that was said.

To scrub off all that we did.

But we’ve washed this again and again

To the point where it’s dulled

And lost it’s luster.

Even now, the stains still remain

On my mind

In my heart

And those are spots we can’t just forget.
