Yellow
Before I met you, I could only see you
While I actively searched for your face in the crowd,
From across the room,
Or in passing.
But once you entered my life,
I started to see you everywhere,
Even when you weren’t around.
There were echoes of your voice and reminders of your face
The wind felt like your breath
And the sun felt like your touch
Becuase you occupied no place quite like my mind
And you resided in my heart at all hours of the day.
Your honesty became home
And your sincerity a haven
For I was surrounded
By you
With no hope for escape
Yet still I long to hear
That you see me too
So I can finally know
That what is before me is real
And not all in my head
