And the toenail on your little toe

Catches a loose string inside

And you immediately feel a pull

Like your toenail is going to come right off

And it’s already bleeding?

Your heart beats fast for a second

And you have a fraction of a panic

That drags itself out?

This is the same trepidation I feel
