Pay close attention to the turtle

It’s slow. Meticulous. Painstakingly determined.

And sure, when it feels threatened or scared

It conceals away behind a thick shell,

Slowing it down to a halt.

But even after all of that hiding and waiting,

It always reemerges.

The turtle presses on.

Forward. Regardless of how much time was wasted

Or how off course it got.

Or how panicked it was.

It progresses. It moves.

It lives.
