Heartwood
The next time you’re feeling empty or fruitless,
Like a vacant shell of who you once were,
Keep in mind that even a hollow tree can save a life.
Countless creatures and critters nesting in the Winter to spare themselves from the cold of the outside
To find warmth when reality is too harsh to bare.
I know there is no pain quite like feeling empty, but closing yourself off will only make the hurt much worse.
If you keep yourself open, if you allow yourself to love again,
The creatures will come and make you whole.
Someone will come to make you their home.
