Hydra
What you failed to realize
Is that every curse and every pox
Every disparaging designation
And vulgar vocabulary
Has not broken me down like you planned.
I come back twice as strong
Because every word and name and decree
That you can think of
I have already called myself.
These insolent idioms are not new.
And regardless of all that,
I know my worth.
I’m no monster like you or my mind say
I am a man. Learning from the past.
Growing back my heads one at a time
And trying my best to keep them from drowning
