Dissipation

You were Lightning

Sparking like a firework

Dangerous and powerful

But so full of life

Gown stretched across the sky for all to see

For all to take in

But only in a brief instant

Making everyone wait on bated breath

For you to strike again

I was Thunder

Always ever so slightly behind

Too late

To be at your side

Sometimes we’re synonymous

But never are we equal

I’m all bark

You’re all bite

You are radiant

While I just scream from the shadows

Trying to catch up

Before the clouds clear away
