Snowed In

You coated my room with a fresh sheet of snow

For no two nights were the same

Falling flakes of flawless crystal
Glistening of laughter
Of quarrels
Of awkward pauses and blameless causes

Decorations dancing between “I Love” and “I Hate”

Frozen over by a turned back and a cold shoulder

Realizing too late that the salt I should have laid down before you came over
Was rubbed into our worded wounds
