Spectacularly

“I love you.”

It sounds so simple

Like a word you can write
And a word you can read

But saying it aloud
Isn’t as natural as you think

You’re confident you can feel it
And you’re confident it is true

But when you voice your soul

You stutter and stammer
You stop
Second guessing every letter
And it’s placement

Questioning the order
And the cadence of the consonants

For our tongues are not as quick as our minds
And our tongues are not as strong as out hearts
