I remember seeing you from across the room for the first time in months

My heart was racing, painfully beating

My vision was blurred, spinning and swinging

I remember sweating and feeling nauseous

Weak and numb at the knees

And I was afraid

Afraid it meant I still loved you

That I still desired your touch

Your kiss

Your bite

Your sting

But I guess it’s no coincidence

That love and venom

Have the same affect on the body.
