The Long Road Home
I talked to the static as I drove home at night
We spoke of streetlights and signs too dim to read
Made wishes on high beams like shooting stars on passing cars
And nodded at every deer that decided to jay walk
But by the time I got back to the highway, as the road started to clear
So did the radio
And I heard our song come on.
So I drove the rest of the way home
Alone
