Wishes Travel Slower in a Vacuum

I made a wish on what I thought was a star
But it turned out to be a planet
Millions of light years away
Sitting stagnant in the sky
Lighting just a minuscule fraction in the distance
But just still enough to catch my eye
And I knew right then that my wish wouldn’t come true.
Because I’m sure the planet has dreams of its own
